Keep On Truckin'- 7 Must Try Food Truck Parks Across Portland.
Portland is a city known for its food culture. We have some of the best food, desserts, wine, beer and spirits in the country. Part of the reason we have access to such awesome worldly delights in Portland is due to rules here that foster the opening and usage of food trucks. This allows culinary dreamers with big food ideas a lower risk startup and a way to gather customer insight without the commitment of a brick and mortar location. It also allows truck owners flexibility in location. Whether you seek a classic cheesesteak, a delicious falafel sandwich, or have a regional cuisine you thought you’d never be able to find in the States, it’s worth checking to see if Portland “has a truck for that”.
This blog will take you on a tour of some of the best food truck pods in PDX. So read through this blog and then hop in the car and get to eating! You have some delicious food to try!
Cartlandia: Located in Southeast Portland at 8145 SE 82nd Ave., where Springwater Corridor crosses 82nd is Cartlandia, an aptly named food truck pod open 7 days a week from 11 AM-11 PM. This park boasts over thirty food trucks and many different nationalities of delicious food. Also located in this park is the Blue Room Bar so you can order refreshing cocktails to go with your food and eat it on the bar’s patio or many other covered outdoor seating choices.
Cartopia: Cartopia is a food truck park located on the corner of SE 12th and Hawthorne. The park’s beautiful fire pit and attractive covered outdoor seating makes the ambiance as good as the food. A beer and wine truck is available to drink alongside a delicious meal.
Eastport Food Center: At 3905 SE 82nd Ave. across from Eastport Shopping Center is Eastport Food Center. Full to the top with delicious and authentic foods from all over the world, beer and wine, and covered outdoor seating, EFC is a perfect way to end (or begin) your shopping trip on the deep Southeast Side.
Portland Mercado: Located at the first Latino Public Market in Portland, the Portland Mercado carts boast delicious Latino foods in an environment that supports and fosters the creation and success of Latino small businesses in Portland. Take a trip to the carts at 7238 SE Foster Road and stay for some shopping at the Mercado.
Rose City Food Park: Located where Sandy Blvd. meets Northeast 52nd Street, RCFP adds culinary diversity to the already bustling Sandy Blvd. There are over 15 trucks including a beer and wine truck and a coffee truck. Family friendly, bike friendly, and with plenty of heated seating, we recommend stopping by Rose City Food Park before hitting Mount Tabor or another park on the East side.
PSU Carts: Jumping across the river to the Portland State University Campus are the PSU carts on SW 4th and Hall. Delicious International cuisines are lined up on a bustling block to provide a snack between classes (or a sandwich to soak up some of the beers from the nearby downtown breweries).
Hillsdale Carts: Located by Wilson High, this park provides the Hillsdale neighborhood with a small group of delicious carts like Thai and Mexican. Head to 6238 SW Capitol Highway and eat outside taking in the lovely far Southwest Portland neighborhood.
