Five Portland Farmer’s Markets to Check Out

One of the best parts about the advent of spring in Portland is the opening of booths full of farm-fresh produce, baked goods, and other local treats popping up all over town. Each different farmer’s market in Portland has its own vibe. This OJ blog will list five farmer’s markets for you to try this spring. Who knows- you might find your next favorite booth!

 

1.       PSU Farmer’s Market

SW Park and SW Montgomery- on the SW Park Blocks

Saturdays 8:30 AM to 2 PM

Nestled into the PSU Campus of the SW Portland Park blocks, the PSU Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to find local goods from all types of seasonal produce, honey, liquor and wine, coffee and baked goods. Be prepared to walk a little from your car or use transit as parking is sparse.

 

2.       Rocky Butte Farmer’s Market

9200 NE Fremont Street

Saturdays beginning June 4th 9 AM-1 PM

Rocky Butte Farmer’s Market is a fairly young market on the Portland scene. According to its website, RBFM , the market was developed in 2019 to give local residents access to fresh, healthy foods.

 

3.       Portland Saturday Market

Each Saturday between March to December

Waterfront, Downtown Portland

Each year in Old Town/Waterfront is possibly Portland’s most famous Farmer’s Market. According to their website there are over 150 booths worth of local produce, baked goods, and hand-made art to sort through. The Saturday Market is so huge it sprawls blocks and spills into the waterfront, so go check it out and take a waterfront walk with a delicious smoothie.

 

4.       Kenton Farmer’s Market

N. McClellan and N. Denver

Wednesdays June 1st- September 28th

Mirroring North Portland’s buzzing, trendy neighborhoods, Kenton Farmer’s Market gives local North Portlander’s a chance to restock their groceries locally as well as listen to live music while they browse painted and wearable art.

5.       South Portland Farmer’s Market

Elizabeth Caruthers Park- 3508 S. Moody

Thursdays June-October 2 PM- 7 PM

Fresh, seasonal produce is available in South Portland all year round (we will cover the limited winter hours in a winter market blog- stay tuned!). Take a walk with the family and make sure to bring your favorite dog to this dog-friendly market!
